- Ocean Speedway signs Taco Bravo as title sponsor for Ocean 360 Sprint Car Series
By Gary Thomas
Watsonville, CA – December 22, 2009…Long-time San Jose area restaurant and business Taco Bravo has signed a two-year deal with the Ocean Speedway to become the official title sponsor of the Ocean Sprint Car Series.
The partnership brings with it a historical aspect for what should be an exciting year of competition in 2010. "We're thrilled to have Dennis Wuollet and Taco Bravo come on board as the sponsor for the Ocean Sprint Car Series," said Ocean Speedway promoter John Prentice. "Taco Bravo has a lot of history in this area and has been involved in sprint car racing for a long time so it seems like a natural fit."
Taco Bravo has been a staple in the area for a number of years featuring locations in Campbell, San Jose and Fremont. Taco Bravo has also supported multiple drivers and teams throughout the years, most recently being seen on the sprint cars driven by Gilroy's Kurt Nelson and San Martin's "Cowboy" Craig Smith, as well as the 4-banger driven by San Jose's Joey Batts among others.
The Ocean Sprint Car Series brought to you by Taco Bravo is coming off a banner year that saw strong car counts, great competition and featured eight different winners in 13 races. In the end Easton's Tommy Tarlton narrowly defeated two-time track champion Brent Kaeding of Campbell by just 12-digits for his first career title at the speedway. Tarlton will be officially crowned as the 2009 Ocean 360 champion at the Cocoanut Grove Ballroom in Santa Cruz on January 16 during the Ocean Speedway Awards Dinner.
In 2010 the Ocean 360 Sprint Cars will see 15-nights of total racing, with 13 of them being contested at the Ocean Speedway, as well as one each at the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway and the Santa Maria Speedway. Opening night is slotted for Friday April 2 at Ocean Speedway.

Ocean Speedway promoter John Prentice is proud to be able to make the announcement as tires have become one of the hottest topics in all of sprint car racing during the off-season. - GLR Investments not returning for 2010 Ocean 360 Sprint Car Series
By Gary Thomas
Watsonville, CA – December 18, 2009…After becoming the title sponsor of the Ocean Speedway 360 Sprint Car Series last season Scotts Valley, CA based GLR Investments have announced that they will not be returning to the club in 2010, as the company will focus more on its World of Outlaws endeavors.
Everyone with Ocean Speedway would like to thank Chris Luck and GLR's support in 2009. "We definitely want to thank Chris for his support this past season of the series and will now be looking into the future as the sprint cars seem to keep growing each year around here," said track promoter John Prentice.
Due to the success of the Ocean Speedway 360 Sprint Car Series over the past couple seasons, within just two days of GLR announcing that they would not be back, a handful of companies have come forward showing interest for the naming rights. "It's been really nice to see the interest in the series and we're pretty close to signing a new title sponsor so hopefully it will be good for everyone involved," Prentice said.
The 2010 Ocean Speedway 360 Sprints will kick off the season on Friday night April 2 at the Ocean Speedway, where defending track champion Tommy Tarlton will look to start his title defense from a year ago. For more info visit http://www.oceanspeedway.com

The Ocean Sprints will be a part of the "Doug Fort Memorial" weekend at Santa Maria, which also includes the Golden State Challenge Series the following night to make for an action-packed double-header.
The second event outside of Ocean Speedway for the series will come on Saturday night May 22 at the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway, which will mark the only winged 360 sprint car event at the 1/3 mile clay oval prior to the running of the annual Trophy Cup later on in the season.
